ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES

Canada-Korea Conference (CKC)
•Canada-Korea Conference on Science and Technology is an annual international conference jointly organized by AKCSE and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST).
•Since 2011, CKC has brought together scientists, engineers, professionals, and students from Canada and Korea, and provided an important platform for them to network, share knowledge, and develop collaborative research.
•Over 50 students from Canada and Korea participate in the interdisciplinary conference with discipline-specific academic sessions, poster sessions, networking opportunities, career and professionalism development programs, etc.

Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Internship
•The purpose of KIST Internship is to help university students cultivate ‘real-world’ knowledge in their chosen field of study by participating in research activities and having on-site experience with an advisor, and to provide an opportunity to learn about the research culture in Korea.
•Paid summer internship for undergraduate and graduate students.
•Between May – August of each year (length of stay is negotiable).

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
YGN-AKCSE SCHOOL CHAPTERS MEETING
• The purpose of the event is to promote networking between Korean-Canadian students from different AKCSE chapters in Canada.

Young Generation Forum (YGF)
•Each year, KOFST brings together over 120 of the brightest ethnic Koreans from all over the world to participate in creating a strong worldwide network of scientists and engineers.
•The week-long conference takes place between late June / early July.
•Around 10 Canadian delegates participate annually.
YGN Leadership Retreat
•The purpose of the retreat is to to provide chapter representatives an opportunity to gain a better understanding of YGN and AKCSE and to meet people from different AKCSE chapters.
•Held in Ontario during November reading week and in Alberta during February reading week
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation (KCSF)
The mission of the KCSF is to nurture students to achieve their full potential and to provide opportunities for KoreanCanadian students to create their unique paths to success. The KCSF seeks to develop a new generation of leaders who will continue with the values of the KCSF and nurture new dream trees. The KCSF accomplishes this primarily through its scholarship and student development programs.

Korean Canadian Science Scholarship Foundation (KCSSF)
Every year, seven students are chosen for the following awards:
SK group ($3000, 1 person), Mogam Science Scholarship Foundation Green Cross ($2000, 1 person), Goryeo Medical Foundation ($3,000, 1 person), CS Wind scholarship ($2,000, 1 person), 이경석 Scholarship ($1,000, 1 person), KONA-KCSSF (Nursing) scholarship ($1,000, 1 person), KCSSF scholarship ($1,000, 1 person)
