AKCSE U of T chapter has been founded in 2012. Our vision is to strengthen the community ties between the undergraduate/graduate students at University of Toronto and professionals and to provide beneficial resources for undergraduate/graduate students that would enrich experience at the university. We organized a series of journal club events to enhance students’ understandings in research and promote the importance of research. We also collaborated with AKCSE Ryerson to organize a large-scale networking event where we invited working professionals from various disciplines to share their experiences and provided opportunities for students to expand their network outside of their fields of interest. Next, a mock multiple mini interview session was initiated to provide students with opportunities to practice their interview skills for professional schools and to receive feedback. Lastly, our mentorship event is designed to provide guidance and advice to undergraduate students by pairing them with graduate students/professionals.
