AKSCE at University of Alberta was established in 2013 with a goal of delivering academic assistance and professional network for Korean-Canadians Scientists and Engineers to achieve their full career potential. Our school chapter aims to foster a friendly and welcoming environment for all members through various events throughout the year. Our academic activities from last year include monthly mentorship sessions on professional programs and development, mini study groups, and course review forums for course selections. Aside from academics, our social activities include Membership Training retreat, bowling, samosa fundraising, coffee breaks, our annual Golden Bell Quiz where students from various science backgrounds get together to answer trivial questions, and assisting in hosting the National Math/Science competition for students in elementary and junior high school. Our chapter is always seeking for new ideas and activities to promote and better serve our student group members.
